Programme note

In Dog Barks, remembered barking becomes an obsessive inner sound. The marking Allegro feroce defines the work’s physical character: repeated chords, sharp ostinati, compressed chromatic cells, and accumulating rhythmic pressure create a sound-world that seems unable to settle.
